Syracuse University has suspended its Zeta Beta Tau fraternity chapter for violating public health orders and the university’s Code of Student Conduct, an SU spokesperson confirmed Friday.
The fraternity is no longer allowed to operate on campus after violating social distancing guidelines and participating in behavior that was “reckless and selfish,” said Sarah Scalese, senior associate vice president for university communications, in a statement to The Daily Orange. The fraternity’s conduct violations occurred in the spring semester, but the details of the violations are unclear.
